In Liberia !

Our new home

Here we are! We have landed in Monrovia almost two weeks ago now. The long trip went well, thanks to the screen behind the seats of the airplane! Directly immersed in the heat and humidity, we were well welcomed by SIM Liberia at the airport as well as on ELWA compound where we stay.

A house, just renovated, was waiting for us. We are grateful to have 3 rooms and a living room/kitchen which allows us to have enough space. We could directly settle in as there were already some furniture (beds, table, chairs, sofas). We may change and complete the furniture step by step.

We are incredibly blessed to have the beach in front of our house, it is a wonderful playground for the boys! They are already hunting crabs! Lizards are still to fast ;-)

Lobsters ?!

One evening around 8:30 pm (here it is already dark for two hours), while the children are ready to go to bed, we knock at our door. It is our neighbor who is here with a friend fisherman, they show us a bucket full of lobsters freshly caught. We take around ten of those beasties, that will finish the next day in our plates. It is a delight for every body. Our guard had to teach us how to eat the legs. They are quit crunchy!!

Schooling

We could visit 3 different schools for Théotime and Siméon. We finally decided to put them in a school run by the Rafiki foundation. We liked the small classes, with a maximum of 20 children, and the fact that the teaching was partly based on Montessori method of education.
