Between the Hospital and the office

It was difficult to be precise about the work of Nicolas before coming to Liberia. I think that now after soon 6 months, we can clarify a little bit the question. To start, let's say that the person in charge of the IT work before Nicolas was also in charge of the generators, the radio and most of the technical and electrical part of the compound. So, he has a lot of work ! Nicolas is a free spirit between the central office and the hospital. He is riding his bike to pass rapidly from one to the other, help out people, taking care of the servers and the network. He spend a few weeks, with the help of a engineer of a short-term mission, to reconnect the telephone system at the hospital! A big puzzle that everyone could enjoy since before the phones, there were the radios, one conversation for the whole hospital !r

Diversity and new things

Taking care of the backups, the security cameras and the X-ray machine… "Excuse-me, you need help at the radiology?" I think that we call that learning on the job, don't you think? It seems to work for now!

Of course a big part of his job, is and will be: to search, choose, understand and install a software for the hospital (hospital information system) and to form people on how to use it.

There is a lot on the plate!

New school

Since January, the hours drive to go to school are over! Théotime and Siméon are exceptionally accepted in the school for missionary kids from an other organization also working on the compound. A few minutes with the bike, one teacher for all, a American curriculum, … the family rhythm will relax and we are looking forward to follow their learning from closer! We have to say that the time at the Liberian school was a good and rich experience for them, us and even for the school!
