The new dental clinic

I don’t flood my patients with my drill anymore and my air water tip is now blowing air only (!), the air conditioning unit is working wonderfully, it’s spacious and bright.

The old reception small and dark is now in a large and welcoming space! You probably got it, the dental clinic moved in a new building!

More patients

While we could treat up to 35 patients a day, the opening day we were able to treat 65 patients! It was a very busy day but presently we can be up to 5 clinicians taking teeth out at the same time!

On the technical side ; suctions, drill carts, sterilization area (guaranteed by Simon, my colleague) and the IT (guaranteed by Nicolas) all worked almost without any trouble ! The new clinic will even allow us to work on 8 chairs at the same time. As for the dental lab, it has been upgraded from camping in the hallway to the 3 rooms suite!

Everyone is getting used to his new environment and we will carry on training dental clinicians. No dental school in Liberia and only 6 qualified dentists for the whole country… Simon and me included!

We are thankful for this great step!

Reminder

On the 16th of June, we will have a « opening day » in Vevey. An opportunity for us to share our first experiences of our work in Liberia and for you to ask us all your questions!
