Six months already

09 Oct, 2020

Six months already that we are in Switzerland. This time "imposed" by the circumstances offer us many good things. The children have got the rhythm and can benefit from a psychotherapeutic support for Théotime, speech therapy for Siméon, gym, scouts, play group for Gabriel, birthdays, friends, … Nicolas is doing is civil service in a farm. He leaves at 7.15am and comes back at 6.45pm. The days are therefore quite busy for Melvina (in her 8th month of pregnancy!) with juggling with meals, transports, appointments all over… but you know probably well what it means!

Going back to Liberia

Yes, we are planning to leave again in January. First of all, we are aware of the challenges that this represents. However, a new school for expatriate children will be opened on campus in January 2021. It is therefore very important to us that our children can join this structure at the same time as the other students. Moreover, although we are well settled here, we are in a situation that the whole family knows is transitory. And this also creates tension in the hearts and minds: "How many sleeps before we go back to Liberia?

Our return to the country is thus expected and it also seems to us that it is wise not to prolong this wait too much. The idea to leave with a baby does not worry us because we know well the place where we are going. Melvina will take her maternity leave and will be able to stay at home for the first few months.

For how long?

Our commitment, for the moment, is renewed until June 2022. We are committed to accomplishing what we committed to beforehand. What happens afterwards? We don't know yet. Many things need to be quietly put in place before we continue our reflections on this subject. But we will keep you informed!

Thank you for your generosity and support during this time in Switzerland.

With Love,
Melvina Nicolas
