Perhaps you are wondering why we have decide to live in Liberia far away from those we love, far from our beautiful Switzerland, and far from the comforts and financial security that our current life offers us, including being able to access one of the best health systems.

It is not just a desire for adventure that is motivating us to make this life change.

As a couple, we thirst for more justice in this world. Like a small package placed at the bottom of our hearts, this strong desire is the driving force behind our decision to work in more resource-poor settings.

You may be thinking, ‘but there are also injustices in Switzerland!’ ! Yes, it’s true and we agree. However we would like to work in a region where injustices are greater, and where our set up skills can be of use. And we think our place is currently in Liberia.

We are also christians and the following bible words have particularly influenced us:

Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. (Isaiah 1.17) ¹

We do not have the pretense to change the world. We would just like to contribute in our own way for more justice and love in this world:

We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop. [Mother Theresa]
